I am His

The word “princess” means a lot to me. It means treasured and precious. I 100% wanted to be a princess when I was younger (and sometimes I still do). Anyways, when I started walking with God, I struggled to find my identity in Him. It took a while, but now I see that I am His daughter. He is King and I am a daughter of the living King. So technically I’m a princess! (Yasss)

Anyways, yesterday I got a pack of fun-size Snickers. A friend and I ate a few and I had two left over, which I put on my desk. These Snickers bars had words on the side, like “irritable” or “annoying” or something else. I don’t really pay attention to them, though, because it’s a candy bar wrapper. Not a big deal. But today, as I was taking some notes for a class, I glanced at the remaining two bars and noticed what they said. One said “Irritable”. Okay, not important. But the other said “Princess”.

Dude.

I know that this isn’t a one of a kind wrapper, but it hit me because it’s what I imagine God’s name for me is: Princess. It might not be a big deal for most people, but it does for me. And that’s the cool thing because we have our own unique walk with God. It’s not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. It’s intimate. There are words, symbols, themes, and other elements that might be reoccurring in our walk with Him. I think I found one. Princess. I am His. His precious and beloved daughter. That’s who I am. I love it. And I love Him. And I love Snickers (and Twix), so I’m a happy princess.

“For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise.”

-Psalm 47:7-

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

-Romans 8:17-

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

  1. That’s awesome! I love how God speaks to us in different ways and meets us where we’re at. I wanted to a princess too (still do – hehe). And we are – yay! So great that you got that special message from God in a Snickers wrapper.
